Yes. The team regularly films and photographs all over New Zealand. Filming and photography equipment can be packed and transported by road or plane, and the team can edit remotely for fast-turnaround projects. Parallax Films is based in Christchurch, but you will find them across Canterbury, the South Island and the North Island, and occasionally overseas.
Yes. Parallax Films is fully insured and holds CAA 102 UAV qualification, approval and certification. This allows the team to legally fly a drone in areas where uncertified operators cannot, including within 4km of an airfield. The team holds an exception that permits night flying and can work with clients to gain concessions for Government-owned land. Drone operations are strictly only carried out where it is legal and safe to do so.
Files, delivery and budgets
Finished videos and photos are delivered via a password-protected digital download. You download the files to your own device and then upload them to the platform of your choice, such as your website, YouTube, Facebook or Instagram. The team will confirm the specifications required for your intended platforms before production begins.
By default, clients receive high-resolution, professionally edited, sound-mixed and colour-graded videos, and professionally edited high-resolution still images, rather than the RAW files. This protects the quality of the final product. Parallax Films shoots on RAW Cinema Film-Log for video and Canon RAW for stills. These files are extremely large and technically complex, requiring specialist editing software and high-powered computers to handle correctly.
If you are a marketing company or production company with the capability to work with RAW files, this can be arranged by requesting it in your original project brief. It will be discussed and quoted for upfront.
